Bart Gary Recognized For Authoring Construction Law Treatise

Bart Gary, a founding FMG partner and practice leader of the Firm's Complex Litigation and Construction Law sections, was honored at a reception before a large gathering of clients, public officials and colleagues on Tuesday, March 5th, in Atlanta. Mr. Gary was recognized for authoring the recently published Georgia Construction Law Handbook, a legal guide to common construction law issues facing contractors, designers, owners and insurers.

Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens headlined several speakers and lauded Mr. Gary's 35 year legal career and his recently published work. Noted arbitrator and construction law authority George Reid and Steve Lewis, CEO of United Forming, one of the nation's largest concrete forming companies and a long-time FMG client, followed Attorney General Olens and offered extended comments on Mr. Gary's successes and national recognition as a leading litigator and counselor.

Mr. Gary has represented clients successfully in a number of muiti-million dollar jury trials and arbitrations throughout the country. He currently serves, among other civic and professional positions, as Chair of the Construction Law section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Furman University and graduated with highest academic honors from the University of Georgia Law School, where he was a member of Order of the Coif and the Law Review. Following graduation, Mr. Gary was a law clerk for both the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals before beginning his career in private practice.
