The partners of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, in cooperation with the Clayton State University Foundation, created and endowed the G. Robert Oliver Scholarship for Legal Studies at Clayton State University.

The scholarship was announced at a meeting of the Clayton State University Foundation, much to the surprise of Mr. Oliver, as he was greeted by his family, law partners and many Clayton officials. Over 100 local officials, family and friends gathered to honor his illustrious legal career and amazing record of community service.
On behalf of FMG, Jack Hancock lauded Mr. Oliver's devotion to Clayton State and his tireless efforts in support of the University as well as many other charities in Clayton County.
Following up on Jack Hancock's comments, Foundation Chairman Leonard Moreland summed up to the audience that Mr. Oliver is the “go-to guy” in Clayton County and has been for many years on anything of significance. We have been privileged to have him serve in so many roles of importance in our community.
