Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP (www.fmglaw.com), a leading national litigation firm, announces the opening of its office in Raleigh, North Carolina, and that Paul H. Derrick has joined the firm as a Partner in the new Raleigh office.
Mr. Derrick brings nearly three decades of experience as a nationally respected employment law attorney. He has advised and represented employers across the country in matters regarding a broad range of labor and employment issues, including discrimination cases of all types, FLSA collective actions, NLRB disputes, union avoidance, enforcement of restrictive covenants, theft of trade secrets, and employment law counseling and compliance. Mr. Derrick has tried numerous cases in both federal and state courts and also has represented employers before a variety of government administrative agencies, including the EEOC, U.S. Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board.

Prior to joining FMG, Mr. Derrick was the chair of the employment law group at Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog in Raleigh and previously was co-founder and litigation manager of the Raleigh office of Jackson Lewis LLP, where he was a partner for eleven years. His early career included working as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board.
Mr. Derrick is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. He has been named a "North Carolina Super Lawyer" and "The Best Lawyers in America" for Labor and Employment Law on multiple occasions.
