Allen E. Sattler is a partner with Freeman Mathis & Gary in the Orange County office.  Mr. Sattler’s practice includes matters in commercial general liability and professional liability, including employment liability, data security and privacy liability, and environmental liability.  As coverage counsel, he represents insurers and reinsurers located in the United States and in London.

Mr. Sattler attended Syracuse University where he earned undergraduate degrees in Information Management and Technology and in History, graduating with honor.  He earned his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law (J.D., cum laude, top 10% of his class), where he was an editor for the Public Law Review.

While earning his law degree, Mr. Sattler worked as a judicial intern for U.S. District Judge Michael Mihm for the Central District of Illinois and for Judge Roy Richter with the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Prior to joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, Mr. Sattler was a partner at a firm in New York, where he represented several domestic and foreign insurance companies.  He also performed a secondment in 2013 with a syndicate in Lloyd’s of London, where he worked closely with underwriters, claims personnel and in-house counsel.

Mr. Sattler is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) and the American Bar Association, and he regularly attends industry conferences by NetDiligence, Advisen, ARIAS and the Reinsurance Association of America, among others.  He has delivered presentations and moderated panel discussions concerning data security and privacy liabilities in New York and London, and he has spoken at industry conferences about issues concerning insurance coverage, reinsurance and arbitration.

Mr. Sattler is not yet licensed by the State Bar of California.
