Michelle Youngblood Terry represents a variety of corporate and governmental entities at both the trial and appellate levels in contract, tort, real estate, and general litigation matters. She has achieved successful results for her clients through jury trial, arbitration and mediation, as well as negotiation. She successfully defended an $8.3 million suit for alleged violations of restrictive covenants, theft of trade secrets and corporate opportunity, and breach of fiduciary duty.

Ms. Terry has experience with many types of real estate matters. Her areas of expertise include restrictive covenants, Open Records and Open Meetings, condemnation, tax appeals and refund claims, and estate and probate litigation. She has successfully resolved appeals of ad valorem taxation on well-known Class A office buildings. 

Ms. Terry has represented tax assessors, as well as property owners, condemnors and condemnees on various complex real estate matters. She has experience in evaluating the merits of taking a case to trial or before a panel of assessors. She recently obtained a very favorable result in a matter before a panel of assessors. Ms. Terry routinely assists clients in property evaluation and acquisition as well as obtaining easements. She also has experience in drafting and negotiating lease and ground lease agreements.

Ms. Terry regularly serves the citizens of Clayton County by acting as a Guardian Ad Litem or court-appointed attorney in guardianship and conservatorship matters in the Clayton County Probate Court.

Ms. Terry received her law degree from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA (J.D., 2001) and her undergraduate degree from Berry College (B.A., summa cum laude, 1994).
