Joyce Mocek is a Partner and practices in the Labor and Employment and Business Liability and Insurance National Practice Sections at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP. Ms. Mocek is also Chair of the firm's ADA Accessibility national practice team. Ms. Mocek is a nationally recognized litigation lawyer that has represented companies across the United States in a diverse range of labor and employment matters. Her areas of expertise focus on advising and representing major employers, insurers, manufacturers, hospitality companies, and health care providers, with particular strengths in strategic planning and early case resolution. She assists clients in resolving labor and employment related issues, including employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, wage and hour claims and compliance with the FLSA, including overtime and misclassification of employees as exempt or nonexempt claims, employee v. independent contractor classifications, FMLA and ADA claims, ADA accessibility claims, and religious and disability accommodation claims. Ms. Mocek provides day-to-day counseling to companies on FLSA compliance, harassment investigations, leave and accommodation situations, employment agreements, including violations of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and handbook reviews and training. As part of her practice, Ms. Mocek regularly appears before the EEOC and related federal and state agencies, including DOL audits, and represents employers before federal and state courts on all levels in employment disputes.
