Paul Bigley Wins Defense Verdict

Congratulations to Paul Bigley, FMG’s California Managing Partner. Mr. Bigley received a defense verdict after a two-week trial in FMG’s first case for the City of Arcadia! The City of Arcadia removed this sensitive case from a firm they had used for over 20 years. After interviewing numerous firms, the City selected FMG. Obviously, they are thrilled with the result.
This was a hotly contested “dangerous condition” premises liability case involving multiple surgeries, including a total knee replacement. Settlement demands were initially north of $1 Million, trickling down to a $295,000 demand on the eve of trial. We had issued a statutory offer for $75,000 and are now entitled to receive all of our costs, which will likely total over $35,000.
Mr. Bigley, with the assistance of FMG’s Trial Support Team, has obtained eleven (11) successful jury verdicts in the last 2 years alone, every time beating plaintiffs’ lowest settlement demands, going into trial.
Importantly, every case proceeding to trial is carefully vetted by FMG’s most seasoned trial attorneys, through a coordinated trial committee conference, chaired by Partner Wayne Melnick — a process unique to FMG, nationally.
