Ms. Figueroa earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 2016. While at Southwestern, she was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in the Children’s Rights Clinic. As a student advocate in the clinic, she represented minors with disabilities in educational meetings and settlement negotiations to ensure they received access to proper educational services. In addition to her clinic experience, Ms. Figueroa completed over 300 public service hours teaching legal life skills to at-risk youth and volunteering time with multiple public interest organizations. Her commitment to public service earned her the Public Service Distinction from Southwestern Law School and the Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services from the State Bar of California.
While at Southwestern, Ms. Figueroa was also Chair of the Board of Governors for the Negotiation Honors Program. As a student, she earned a First Place finish at the Thomas Jefferson Sports Law Negotiation Competition, as well as a Second Place finish at the American Bar Association National Representation in Mediation. Ms. Figueroa is currently a coach for the Negotiation Honors Program, where she teaches negotiation skills to law students. She has coached numerous teams to award winning finishes in both regional and national competitions.
In addition to her legal experience, Ms. Figueroa is also a licensed dental hygienist with over ten years of experience in private practice. In her spare time, Ms. Figueroa enjoys motorsports, soccer, USC football, hiking, and visiting museums.
