Claire Ries is a Senior Counsel in Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP’s Dallas office. She is a member of the Insurance Coverage & Extra-Contractual Liability and Appellate Advocacy practice areas.

Her expertise includes advising clients on complex insurance coverage issues, preparing opinions and coverage position letters, evaluating time-limited settlement demands, and handling insurance coverage litigation across multiple jurisdictions while implementing effective risk management and defense approaches.  Ms. Ries also has experience as an appellate attorney.

Ms. Ries represents insurance companies in connection with third-party claims involving commercial general liability, professional liability, contractors pollution liability, and environmental policies. Her expertise also includes property insurance and other first-party claims. She advises clients on risk assessment, dispute resolution and strategic planning to achieve effective results. In addition, she has worked on various appellate matters, including personal injury defense, tort claims, and business disputes.
