Overview

Jonathan Crumly is senior counsel within the Government Law team at FMG and is a member of the Government Relations team, better known as Freeman Mathis Decisions. Heralded for his advocacy skills, Mr. Crumly is well-versed in strategy development, issue advocacy, and crisis mitigation. He assists organizations in navigating the complex relationships within the political, regulatory and legislative arenas. Mr. Crumly has built a unique level of trust with numerous Georgia legislators in leadership positions of both houses of the General Assembly over the past 10 years through his issue advocacy work. He brings the legislative legal experience necessary to assist our clients’ ability to navigate successfully in the ever-changing political environment.

As an attorney Mr. Crumly has closed more than $250,000,000 in public-private partnership transactions. He has won a jury verdict of $7,400,000 and successfully tried many other cases. He also has substantial experience in numerous forms of alternative dispute resolution, obtaining an arbitration award of $7,200,000 for one client. Mr. Crumly’s mastery in litigation and arbitral forums enhances his practical approach to developing winning strategies to achieve his clients’ objectives in the legislative and regulatory arenas.

Mr. Crumly also practices with the firm’s education team. He has worked with a number of schools and learning institutions on a myriad of litigation issues including policy drafting, contracts, governance, renewals, safety and construction issues.

Prior to joining Freeman Mathis Decisions, Mr. Crumly served as General Counsel for LakePoint Sports, a 1,300 acre mixed-use development that has become the premier sports vacation destination in the country. There, he provided legal support for all sports operations, hospitality contracts for infrastructure and vertical construction. He assisted in obtaining and closing over $80,000,000 in public-private partnership funding as well as state infrastructure grants for the project. Preceding his position at LakePoint, Mr. Crumly was a founding partner of Maner Crumly Chambliss LLP and a partner at Alston & Bird LLP, practicing in its Construction Group.
