Ryan Mayo is an Associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Atlanta office.

Mr. Mayo has advised clients on various data security matters involving business email compromise, breach notification obligations (both under HIPAA and various state laws), fraudulent wire transfer, and ransomware attacks. He is particularly fluent in matters involving cryptocurrencies and exchanges. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals and a member of the Privacy and Technology section of the State Bar of Georgia.

Mr. Mayo received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude, and his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. While in law school, Mr. Mayo externed for the Honorable Eli J. Richardson of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and he interned for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia. At Vanderbilt, Mr. Mayo was also an articles editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, a member of Phi Delta Phi, and a Dean’s Scholar.
