Serving Without Being Served

Psychologists and others medical professionals frequently are presented with opportunities to serve on the boards of hospitals and other non-profit health organizations.  While these opportunities can be professionally fulfilling and provide an additional avenue for psychiatrists to serve the public interest, serving on a non-profit board is not without its risks.  Please join us October 25, 2017 as we discuss general legal issues and grounds for liability for non-profit organizations in Georgia and much more!

Matthew M. Weiss   Associate Direct: 678.399.6356 mweiss@fmglaw.com Mr. Weiss focuses his practice on the defense of local governments as well as commercial litigation.  His experience with public policy and governmental litigation includes zoning appeals and other land use matters, government contracts, bid protests, election contests, state attorney general proceedings, and other litigation involving government agencies.  Mr. Weiss has previously represented multiple vendors in bid protests at various levels of administrative and judicial proceedings.  He has counseled businesses on ethics, compliance, and procurement issues with the City of Atlanta and on pending legislation in the Georgia General Assembly.  Mr. Weiss also has experience with internal investigations on federal regulatory compliance issues.  Click here to read more..
