This course provides training on applicable law, rules, and recent cases from across the country, and will take place as part of an interactive session where highly experienced defense counsel and guests will discuss post-incident planning, law enforcement technology, initial response, and investigations.

Defense counsel will also train on legal issues including preservation of evidence, civil suits and practice, and potential claims and defenses. Defense counsel will further discuss and analyze the Supreme Court’s treatment of qualified immunity and recent opinions from the Eleventh Circuit and their impact on defending claims involving law enforcement. In so doing, the presenters will highlight key information needed by local governments and their employees, including law enforcement, to minimize exposure to liability.
