Jennifer Markowski is a nationally recognized attorney who focuses on employment law, defense of professionals in negligence cases, and commercial litigation. She joins the Boston office of FMG  after practicing with Peabody & Arnold for over 15 years, where she was partner. 

 

Ms. Markowski represents employers in a diverse range of labor and employment matters. Her labor and employment practice includes employment discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour claims, FMLA and ADA claims. As part of her practice, Ms. Markowski regularly appears before the EEOC and related federal and state agencies, including the DOL, and also represents employers before federal and state courts in a myriad of employment disputes. She also represents clients before state and federal administrative agencies and in court. In addition, she advises clients on various employment decisions and provides training and counseling on specific issues.

 

Ms. Markowski’s professional liability practice is centered on the representation of lawyers and law firms and also includes accountants, brokers, appraisers, architects and engineers, and other professionals in malpractice and disciplinary cases. She has represented a number of the region’s most prominent law firms and also serves as outside general counsel to many firms regarding ethical issues, conflict issues, and other professional responsibility matters.

 

Ms. Markowski’s Directors and Officers and Commercial Litigation practice includes suits under the False Claims Act; Fair Debt Collection Practices Act; Telephone Consumer Protection Act; RICO; Fair Business Practice Act; ERISA and non-ERISA fiduciary actions; shareholder derivative suits; breach of fiduciary duty claims; restrictive covenant, trade secret, and confidential business information suits; and many other business law and partnership disputes.
