Overview

Matthew G. Salazar is a Partner and Office Co-Chair of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Sacramento office. He is also Chair of the firm's Western Tort practice team. Mr. Salazar’s practice focuses on the defense of claims in the areas of tort and catastrophic loss, construction defect and commercial litigation in California. 

Mr. Salazar’s Tort and Catastrophic Loss practice includes defense of claims involving premises liability, transportation, complex commercial losses, construction accidents and product liability. He has significant experience with wrongful death claims and serious injuries including traumatic brain injury, complex regional pain syndrome (reflex sympathetic dystrophy), spinal cord stimulators and amputations. In the transportation area, he has litigated cases involving personal and commercial vehicles, including trucking and motor coach claims. 

Mr. Salazar also has years of experience representing various clients, including general contractors and subcontractors, in disputes involving construction defects. His construction defect experience spans various industries and encompasses both small and large-scale construction-related issues that give rise to construction defect claims.
