Pro Bono

FMG is committed to pro bono service and community involvement. The firm has a relationship with a number of bar associations, community organizations, and non-profits to provide legal services free of charge or at vastly reduced rates.

FMG views community involvement as an important aspect of being a well-rounded attorney and person. Many of our attorneys are actively involved in civic, charitable, and religious organizations, and such involvement is encouraged at the outset of each new associate’s career.

In this regard, we have strived to develop a work culture that strikes an appropriate balance between work and life outside our firm. Attorney training and development also is an important aspect of the FMG culture. Because we want our attorneys, paralegals, and staff to stay with us on a long-term basis, we devote substantial time to training our development of practical skills. All attorneys, for example, complete and regularly update an individual professional development plan, which encourages them to set their own goals and track their progress at achieving those goals.

FMG focuses on creating opportunities for our newer attorneys to gain valuable experience. As business development is the lifeblood of the firm, all attorneys are encouraged to participate in marketing, legal writing and speaking, and professional organizations. Even newer associates have much to contribute to business development, so the firm encourages participation in these activities from the outset of each new associate’s career.

FMG also offers a mentoring program for all new associates and lateral attorneys that is designed to enhance the transition to our firm. Each new attorney is assigned a mentor so that he or she has a person from whom advice can be sought.

As a growing firm, FMG aggressively recruits lateral partners and experienced associates for all of our offices. For entry-level attorneys, FMG recruits students each Fall from top law schools across the country and also law clerks from federal and state trials and appellate courts. The firm seeks applicants with records of high academic achievement, participation in law review or moot court, leadership ability, and demonstrated interest and experience in the practice of law.
