Charley Short is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Miami office. He is a member of the Firm’s Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions practice section and is actively involved in the Lawyers Professional Liability Interdisciplinary Team.
Charley focuses his practice on the defense of attorneys in civil claims for professional negligence across a wide range of legal disciplines. He also represents clients in commercial litigation, construction defect claims and general liability matters. Prior to joining FMG, Charley practiced at a large insurance defense firm where he handled general liability, personal injury, and first-party property defense cases. His litigation experience is complemented by a judicial internship with the Honorable Edwin G. Torres, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of Florida.
Charley earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he served on the Inter-American Law Review and was selected for publication. He holds a B.A. in English Literature from Barry University.
