Alex Diaz is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Miami office and a member of the firm’s Professional Liability practice section. He is Co-Chair of the firm's Lawyers Professional Liability national practice team. Since 2010, Alex’s practice has been dedicated to the defense of lawyers in professional malpractice and other related claims in both state and federal courts, as well as in Florida Bar grievance matters.
Alex has written and lectured extensively on the topic of lawyer’s liability for statewide and local bar organizations and insurers. In 2017, Alex received the “Continuing Legal Education” Award from the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.
Alex earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami. While in law school, Alex was the Articles & Comments Editor of the International & Comparative Law Review, and a Writing Dean’s Fellow. Prior to joining Klein Park & Lowe, P.L., Alex practiced family law at a Miami family law firm.
Alex has been recognized since 2019 by his peers as a Super Lawyer in the area of Professional Liability: Defense.
Alex is currently a mentor in the Christopher Columbus High School Mentoring Program and a member of the certification board of the National Council on Strength & Fitness. Alex was formerly a member of the Dade County Bar Association’s Membership/Professionalism Committee, and the Young Lawyers Section Continuing Legal Education Committee.
