Casey Torres is an Associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Atlanta office. He concentrates his litigation practice on commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and defense of directors, officers, and other professionals.
Prior to joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, Mr. Torres practiced and was part of the litigation team at a boutique law firm in Georgia specializing in representing and giving counsel to homeowners associations, and in particular, their boards of directors and agents, such as community association management teams. Additionally, Mr. Torres has experience practicing in litigation and transactional attorney groups handling title curative, property dispute, and foreclosure cases, as well as some experience handling securities issues and investigating insider trading and breach of fiduciary duty claims for the United States Securities & Exchange Commission’s Atlanta Office. In law school, Mr. Torres completed a summer clerkship with the honorable Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Bagley of the Superior Court of Forsyth County, Georgia.
Through past and current practices, Mr. Torres has advocated for and represented a wide array of legal interests and clients, including work for the state and federal governments and representing entities such as banks, mortgage and lending companies, title companies, insurance companies, homeowners associations, and property and community association management companies.
Mr. Torres is originally from South Florida and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Outside the office, Mr. Torres serves as the Co-Chair for the Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter’s Young Professionals Advisory Committee and can frequently be found attending UGA football and Braves baseball games.
