Tyler Batteese is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Tampa office is a Vice-Chair to the firm's Healthcare Law national practice section. He was formerly a shareholder in an insurance defense firm for over 20 years before co-founding a boutique firm specializing in the defense of healthcare providers in 2023.
Mr. Batteese attended Boston University, where he was a founding member of the B.U. local chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He also attended the University of Maine where he was awarded a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude, in 1992. He attended the University of Miami School of Law where he was an accomplished moot court participant, member of the Law Review, and was awarded his Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, in 1995.
Mr. Batteese is currently a practicing trial attorney and specializes in the areas of medical malpractice defense as well as general civil litigation. He has been included in the top 1% of medical malpractice trial attorneys in the state of Florida and in The Best Lawyers in America.
