William J. (“Bill”) Linkous III is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Atlanta office. He is a member of the Firm’s Government Practice Section. He is also actively involved with the Southeast Government and HOA Interdisciplinary Practice Teams. He focuses his practice on helping local governments achieve their objectives, defending claims against local governments in Georgia, and on HOA matters.
Mr. Linkous brings thirty-five years of experience to government matters and claims, including experience in the highest levels of government representation. His practice has included representation of local governments throughout the State of Georgia, and in particular, he has previously served as County Attorney for DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Hall Counties. He also served previously as City Attorney for the City of Stockbridge, Georgia, and served as Assistant General Counsel for the Atlanta Public Schools Independent School System. He has also handled extensive litigated matters during his career, including HOA disputes and many other similar cases in trial and appellate courts. He brings a thoughtful litigation strategy together with a pragmatic approach that achieves successful results for clients.
During Mr. Linkous's time at Georgia State University Law School, he was a member of the Georgia State University Law Review.
