Courtney Mazzio is an attorney practicing in the firm’s Philadelphia and Cherry Hill offices. She handles a wide array of complex litigation matters with a particular focus on employment, professional liability, commercial litigation and data privacy and cyber claims.

Ms. Mazzio’s extensive litigation experience includes advocacy for employers in labor and employment claims, including discrimination, wage and hour, harassment and retaliation claims, as well as disputes involving trade secrets and restrictive covenants. She also counsels a variety of employers on workplace issues and best practices, developing customized full-service human resources binders, employee handbooks, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, sexual harassment policies and social networking and electronic privacy policies. She has successfully negotiated separation agreements for clients, which often involve restrictive covenants and negotiations involving trade secrets.

Ms. Mazzio has represented Residential & Resort Communities, Homeowners’ and Condominium Associations in a wide array of claims and litigation. In her professional liability practice, she has defended attorneys, insurance agents, real estate agents, teachers, corporate officers, and other professionals. 

Ms. Mazzio’s construction practice encompasses representing contractors, subcontractors, owners, architects, and engineers in a variety of disputes involving contracts, business torts, multi-party construction defects, and warranties. She pursues and defends lien, and payment and performance bond claims on behalf of owners, contractors, and sureties. 

In her Data Privacy and Cyber Claims practice, Ms. Mazzio (1) advises businesses on compliance with U.S. federal and state data security and privacy laws; (2) serves as breach counsel to provide comprehensive assistance in the event of a data security incident, including forensic investigations, customer notification, public relations, and state and federal regulatory investigations; and (3) helps clients proactively prevent and manage data security events through security and privacy assessments, development of written policies and procedures, drafting and negotiation of vendor contracts, and workforce training. In addition, Ms. Mazzio is equipped to defend organizations in privacy litigation, such single-plaintiff or class action cases and enforcement actions by government agencies, as well as in business-to-business litigation and other Technology Errors & Omissions (Tech E&O) claims.

Ms. Mazzio is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a graduate of College of the Holy Cross and the Widener University School of Law.

She volunteers with Support Center for Child Advocates as a Child Advocate Attorney. When she is not in the office or in court, you might find her on Kelly Drive training for one of Philadelphia’s famous distance runs.
