Overview

Art McKeon was a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Los Angeles office and is now retired from the firm. In his four decades of practice, he represented small local businesses, national companies and international corporations on a wide array of employment law and commercial law matters. Mr. McKeon also represented public entities and contractors in section 1983 and constitutional cases. Mr. McKeon's practice also included substantial class action experience, including consumer remedies, unfair competition, overtime and other wage and hour disputes such as meal breaks, rest periods and tip pooling.
Mr. McKeon tried numerous cases to verdict in the California state and federal courts, including numerous jury and court trials, mediations and arbitrations. He successfully litigated cases involving: commercial and consumer disputes; civil rights in section 1983 cases; discrimination; sexual harassment; wrongful discharge; violations of state and federal employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, Title VII, EPPA, ADEA, and wage and hour disputes.
