Pete Catalanotti is a partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s San Francisco office.  Mr. Catalanotti is Vice-Chair of the firm’s Professional Liability National Practice Section.

Mr. Catalanotti defends licensed California professionals in civil lawsuits and administrative claims, including real estate brokers, appraisers, lawyers, insurance agents, accountants, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and miscellaneous professional and quasi-professionals (health care workers).  He also represents homeowners associations.  He also gives risk management lectures.   He represents employers in discrimination, wage, and related class action lawsuits and claims through the DFEH. 

Mr. Catalanotti received the distinction of being named as a 2009–2017 Super Lawyer Rising Star by Law & Politics Magazine. In 2003, he received his JD from Temple University School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Summer Corps grant from Equal Justice Works, and a labor law grant from the Peggy Browning Fund. He was awarded with "Distinguished Class Performance" in the areas of professional responsibility and labor law. In 1999, he received his BA in Psychology and Political Science from Fairfield University.

Mr. Catalanotti is admitted to practice before all courts in California and is a member of the Northern and Central Districts of California Federal Court, and the 9th Circuit Federal Court. Mr. Catalanotti is a licensed real estate broker and serves as Co-Chair of the Real Estate Sales and Brokerage Subsection of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of California. He is a volunteer for the San Francisco Superior Court. Mr. Catalanotti is available to act as a private discovery referee for civil cases.

Mr. Catalanotti was an elected board member of the Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF) from 2012-2018.  He was named Co-Chair in 2016. He was also an elected board member of the National LGBT Bar Association (formerly known as Lavender Law) from 2015-2017. Mr. Catalanotti is also the co-chair of the LGBT Equality Committee of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF). In 2017, Mr. Catalanotti was the Diversity Award Recipient of the Barristers Club Diversity Committee of BASF. In 2017, he was the recipient of the Mentor of the Year award from BALIF.  In his free time, he volunteers with Destination Law School and the LGBT Youth Project, practices Muay Thai kickboxing, and rides his motorcycle.
