Brandon Howard is an Associate in the Firm's Insurance Coverage and Professional Liability National Practice Sections.   

Mr. Howard represents and advises clients at all levels of federal and state litigation, from pre-suit matters to final appeal. He specializes in insurance litigation, including coverage and first-party/third-party disputes. His practice touches on a span of insurance issues, including business and property claims, commercial liability claims, construction claims, and bad faith litigation. In addition, he has advised several insurers on their policy-based coverage obligations and extensive regulatory duties under federal and state law.

Mr. Howard is also experienced in advising and resolving disputes against banks and other financial institutions arising out of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, the regulations promulgated by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, RICO, and state consumer protection laws. His experience includes taking a lead role in litigation under the Federal Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and various unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices (UDAP/UDAAP) statutes.

Prior to joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, Mr. Howard served as a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Richard L. Voorhees of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. During his clerkship, Mr. Howard counseled Judge Voorhees on civil and criminal matters before the district court and on matters presented to Judge Voorhees as he sat by designation on multiple panels of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
