Hillary Freesmeier is an associate in the Labor and Employment National Practice Section at Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP. Hillary’s practice includes representing employers and organizations across the country in all aspects of federal and state employment litigation and administrative matters, including employment discrimination claims, harassment claims, wage and hour claims, FMLA and ADA claims, whistleblower claims, and disputes surrounding enforcement and defense of restrictive covenant and confidentiality agreements. Hillary also advises these entities on day to day counseling of employees and workforce management and interaction.

Hillary received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Mercer University School of Law, and served as the Georgia Survey Editor for the 67th volume of the Mercer Law Review. While at Mercer, Ms. Freesmeier was also a member of the Mercer Moot Advocacy Council, where she was a finalist in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition for the Philadelphia Regional and competed in the Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Competition. During her third year at Mercer, Ms. Freesmeier was a member of the William A. Bootle Inn of Court and received the Walker P. Johnson Jr. Memorial Award for demonstrating excellence in litigation skills, professionalism, and ethics. Upon graduation, Ms. Freesmeier was invited to join the Brainerd Currie Honor Society and the Order of Barristers.

Hillary received her B.S. in both Political Science and Media Communication from Florida State University, magna cum laude, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Prior to joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, Hillary clerked for the Honorable Thomas Q. Langstaff, United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia.
