Dhave Balatero is an associate in the Firm’s Downtown Los Angeles office and practices in the Tort and Catastrophic Loss section. Mr. Balatero has substantial experience in the area of personal injury, medical malpractice, transportation, and insurance law. In the transportation arena, he litigates cases arising from accidents involving personal and commercial vehicles, including trucking and motor coach cases. In the premises liability context, he defends negligent security, liquor liability and slip and fall cases. Additionally, he handles all aspects of professional liability, including defense of medical negligence cases involving doctors, nurses and other medical providers. He also has represented manufacturers in the defense of product liability cases nationwide.

Mr. Balatero received his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University in 2010 and his  J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 2015. While at Southwestern, he participated in the Children’s Rights Clinic, where he represented children and families in school disciplinary hearings and  children with disabilities in special education matters. 

Prior to joining FMG, Mr. Balatero worked as in-house counsel for Farmers Insurance, where he gained skills and experience in all phases of civil litigation, including but not limited to discovery, law and motion, pre-trial and trial.  He utilized his knowledge and experience to achieve timely and cost-effective results for his clients.  Mr. Balatero also successfully completed Farmer’s Trial Advocacy Program.

In his spare time, Mr. Balatero enjoys being outdoors, hiking, biking, and cooking.
