Michelle T. Harrington is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Los Angeles office. Her practice includes representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment litigation, including wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, discrimination, family/medical leave violation, breach of contract, and wage and hour violations in individual plaintiff matters as well as in class and representative actions typically involving the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). She also handles administrative proceedings before the California Labor Commissioner, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Ms. Harrington has advised employers on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, discipline, termination, classification of employees as exempt or non-exempt, independent contractor status, rest and meal breaks, employee privacy, drug testing, reductions in force, disability and religious accommodations, and leaves of absence. She has reviewed and prepared employee handbooks, severance agreements, executive contracts, and independent contractor agreements. She has conducted employment due diligence in mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Harrington has represented a wide range of employers including national retailers and restaurants, colleges and universities, and international businesses.
