Caitlin M. Tubbesing is an associate attorney in the Lexington, Kentucky office. Her primary areas of practice are insurance litigation, civil rights, and data security. Ms. Tubbesing has considerable experience defending insurers, businesses, and individuals in litigation involving personal injury and wrongful death claims, extra-contractual liability, insurance coverage, and complex and commercial matters. She also represents local governments and law enforcement officers in civil rights litigation and tort claims, and has broad-based experience in intellectual property matters, ranging from copyright litigation to advising commercial clients on trademark issues. 

Ms. Tubbesing graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2016. She was a member of the Brandeis Honor Society, Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Animal and Environmental Law, a Brandeis Academic Fellow, and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Irv Maze, Kentucky Court of Appeals. During law school, she studied international intellectual property law at the University of Turku in Finland and Perm State University in Russia. She also participated in the Conference on Innovation and Communications Law in Leeds, England – which focuses on complex issues in intellectual property law. Additionally, she received CALI awards for the highest grade in Electronic Discovery and International Human Rights Law.

Prior to law school, she earned a Masters of Arts in Public Administration and Public Policy from the University of York in York, England, and a Masters of Arts in International Relations from the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals in Barcelona, Spain. She also served as a political researcher in the House of Commons for Nigel Evans, MP.

In her free time, she enjoys running, traveling, seeing live music, and spending time with her husband, Rick, and dog, Lucy.
