Brian Goldberg is a partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Atlanta office. He concentrates his practice on commercial and business disputes, real estate disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, creditor-rights matters, lender-liability defense, premises liability defense, due diligence reviews, and regularly serves as local counsel providing opinion letters to institutional borrowers and lenders regarding enforceability of Georgia security instruments in large multi-state transactions.

Mr. Goldberg has significant experience with residential and commercial property foreclosures, evictions, quiet title actions, boundary disputes, and complex title matters. He has represented national banks, non-bank mortgage servicers, sub-servicers, large institutional investors, title insurers, companies, and individuals in a variety of contested matters in State and Federal Court. He has been recognized and selected four (4) consecutive years in a row as a “Rising Star” in Georgia Super Lawyers Magazine (2018 – 2021) and is a frequent speaker at national conferences.

Prior to joining Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP, Mr. Goldberg sharpened his litigations skills handling hundreds of litigated matters at a mid-sized Atlanta law firm for about seven (7) years where he served as lead/senior counsel supervising a team of attorneys and paralegals. Prior to law school he served in a supervisory role for five (5) years in a large Atlanta law firm’s bankruptcy department where he helped coordinate and manage contested matters in a national default litigation practice.

In law school Mr. Goldberg completed a summer clerkship with the Honorable Judge James R. Sacca of the Northern District of Georgia, United States Bankruptcy Court. He won Best Petitioner’s Brief award and Oral Argument Finalist in The Charleston School of Law National Moot Court Competition. Mr. Goldberg was also a member of the Mercer Law School Advocacy Council, and a Student Member of the William A. Bootle Inn of Court.

Mr. Goldberg is from Marietta, Georgia, and now lives in Johns Creek, Georgia with his wife Katie and two daughters. In his spare time, Mr. Goldberg enjoys playing guitar, building computers, and attempting to train his German Shepherd.
