Mike Bruyere is co-chair of the Firm's Commercial Litigation/Directors & Officers National Practice Group, as well as the chair of the Life Sciences Litigation Practice.

Using his well-developed litigation skills, Mr. Bruyere represents the interests of some of the world's leading businesses in response to individual, class action, and multi-district product liability, consumer fraud, trade secret, and unfair competition lawsuits in state and federal courts throughout the country. This background and reputation also led him to become the co-author of the Florida chapter in West's 50-State Products Liability Guide.

Mr. Bruyere also specializes in the handling of corporate and individual clients (including institutional trustees/ERISA Plan Trustees, commercial banks, and financial service providers, and their directors and officers) in response to securities and corporate governance disputes, whether statutory or contractual in nature, as well as claims brought under False Claims Act and Qui Tam statutes.  Mr. Bruyere’s corporate practice also includes the defense of civil and regulatory disputes against entities and individuals facing allegations they breached their fiduciary duties, engaged in false advertising and improper pricing, trade secret, and general contractual obligations, with particular emphasis in the technology, construction, banking, and health care business sectors.

Mr. Bruyere's Life Sciences practice involves the representation of nearly every type of health care-related entity (health networks, hospitals, drug manufacturers, pharmacies, medical device manufacturers, clinical research organizations, and long-term and specialty care centers).  Using his engineering background, his technical capabilities have made him a particular asset to the firm’s clients in the defense of claims asserting alleged defects or failures to warn with respect to prescription and generic drugs, medical devices (including implantable devices), biologics, human clinical trials, genetic testing, and prosthetics.

Mr. Bruyere is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, after which he was an Honor Graduate of the Army's Ranger and Airborne Schools.
