Alexander "Alex" Gebert is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, located in the Dallas office. Mr. Gebert is a member of the Commercial Litigation/Directors & Officers, Construction and Design Law, Professional Liability/Errors and Omissions and Tort and Catastrophic Loss Practice Sections. He combines his strong litigation background with sharp business acumen—skills honed both in the courtroom and during his collegiate baseball career, where he developed the intensity, presence and poise he brings to every case and client.
Before joining FMG, Mr. Gebert practiced at a boutique Dallas litigation firm, representing professionals in the design, construction and real estate industries. His clients included international and regional architecture, engineering and land surveying firms, heavy civil contractors and single- and multi-family real estate developers. He advises and serves as outside counsel for real estate, engineering and architecture firms in pre-litigation and litigation matters, including those involving catastrophic loss. Mr. Gebert also guides companies and individuals on intellectual property matters involving patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets.
Mr. Gebert’s representative matters include representing a current NFL player in multiple contract, tort and insurance claims; securing dismissal of all claims in a high-profile bid dispute involving a major public works trail project in downtown Dallas; and obtaining a take-nothing judgment in a multimillion-dollar catastrophic personal injury case involving multiple parties. He received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Oklahoma, where he earned the McAfee & Taft Trial Advocate Award, was inducted into the Order of Solicitors and won multiple trial team and public service (pro bono) awards. He served two terms on the Student Bar Association’s Board of Governors, including election as Class President during his second and third years.
