Before entering law school, Ms. Roney served as a laboratory technician in the Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia, supporting Dr. Nina Solinski in Cerebral Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury: A Novel Therapeutic Approach with TAK-218, published by Clinical Neuropharmacology in 2000. In 1999, Ms. Roney attended the James E. Rogers School of Law at the University of Arizona, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2002. She subsequently moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to serve as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Away from the office, Ms. Roney is an avid soccer player, a member of the St. Matthews Episcopal Church, and continues to hone her skills as a writer of fictional work. She is married to Dr. William Roney, a Senior Technical Director for AT&T, and has two daughters, Keira and Eirinn, who bring sunshine wherever they go.
