Overview

Alona Croteau is a Partner and Director of Client Relations in Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP’s Hartford office. Alona works with the firm’s FMG Assurance practice, which is the Firm’s proprietary program for client compliance, project management, risk assessment, and process improvement. Alona focuses on strengthening the firm’s relationships within the insurance industry

Alona has over two decades of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining FMG, Alona served as chief claims officer of a national multiline claim department and in various claim management roles for a number of national/global insurance carriers and brokerage firms. As a senior insurance executive, Alona gained extensive experience implementing process and technology improvement initiatives. She was responsible for all aspects of technical claim handling and litigation management across 50 states in the area of specialty lines including professional liability, healthcare, financial institutions, public and private D&O, EPL, surety, fidelity, construction and general liability lines of coverage. 

After graduating with a degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Orleans, Alona attended Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, obtaining her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2005. Alona served as the Managing Print Editor of the Loyola Law Review and a member of the Moot Court staff. She was published in the Loyola Law Review while attending law school. Following law school, Alona practiced with a boutique surety law firm for several years.
