Overview

Amy Baughman is a Partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Cleveland office. Ms. Baughman is a member of the firm’s Healthcare, Tort and Catastrophic Loss, and Professional Liability/E&O sections. She is also part of the interdisciplinary teams Aging Services & Long-Term Care and Medical Malpractice.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Baughman’s practice focused largely on representing long-term care facilities in matters related to patients’ rights to pursue Medicaid benefits. She has argued at more than 500 administrative appeal hearings before the Ohio Bureau of State Hearings and has presented Medicaid appeals before eight of Ohio’s 12 appellate district courts. In addition, she has represented nursing home clients in Illinois and Maryland federal courts on various due process-related issues.

Ms. Baughman also has litigation experience defending clients in professional liability, medical malpractice and premises liability matters. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in theater performance from Seton Hill College and a law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where she was a member of the Mock Trial Team and an Ohio Regional Semi-Finalist in 2003.
