Beth Winchell is a Partner and Office Co-Chair in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Lexington office. She is a member of the Tort & Catastrophic Loss and the Insurance Coverage and Extra-Contractual Liability Practice Sections. She is a litigator whose practice focuses on general insurance defense, insurance coverage analysis and litigation, and the representation of motor carriers, owner-operators, and logistics companies in high-exposure trucking and transportation matters. Her Kentucky-based practice includes complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts, defending cases involving catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death, premises liability, retail, hospitality and beverage claims, and a multitude of other commercial general liability claims. She also handles appellate briefing and the defense of bad faith and extra-contractual liability claims and is a member of the Transportation and Sexual Misconduct and Human Trafficking teams within her Practice Sections. She is rated Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent, and has been recognized by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in the areas of insurance law and insurance litigation.
With extensive experience defending insureds, self-insured entities, and national carriers, Ms. Winchell provides comprehensive counsel from immediate rapid response and initial investigation through the litigation process and resolution, and she collaborates with experts in accident reconstruction, biomechanics, engineering, and medical specialties to develop a thorough evaluation and defense of her clients.
