Overview

Blanca Retamozo Pelico is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP specializing in the Tort and Catastrophic Loss, Transportation, and Healthcare arenas. Blanca specializes in defending personal injury cases, including wrongful death claims. Blanca has successfully settled hundreds of cases to date. 

Blanca is also an active member of FMG’s Tort and Catastrophic Loss National Practice Section, Insurance Coverage and Extra-Contractual Liability National Practice Section, Commercial Litigation/Director’s & Officers’ Practice Sections, Employ Law Section, Allied Healthcare Practice Team, and FMG’s Trial Committee. 

Before joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, Blanca gained legal experience in the litigation of individual plaintiff’s side personal injury, wrongful death, employment wage and hour, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination cases, including employment law class action and PAGA claims.

Blanca graduated summa cum laude from Woodbury University, Burbank, in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and History. In 2020, amidst the unprecedented global pandemic, Blanca earned her Law Degree with a concentration in Criminal Law and Advocacy from Southwestern Law School, Los Angeles. 

While in law school, Blanca was a member of Southwestern Law School’s nationally award-winning Trial Advocacy Honors Program (TAHP). Blanca served on TAHP’s Board of Governors as Alumni Relations Chair and was directly trained under experienced trial lawyers from the Los Angeles area. Blanca interned with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office in the Hardcore Gangs Division, where she directly assisted Deputy District Attorneys in the prosecution of high-level criminal and death penalty cases. She was also an active member of various organizations and a peer mentor. 

In her downtime, Blanca dedicates her time to her three sons and two dogs. She also avidly enjoys hiking, music, and traveling.
