Brian Goldberg is a partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Atlanta office. He concentrates his practice on commercial and business disputes, real estate disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, creditor-rights litigation, lender-liability defense, and premises liability defense. He has been recognized and selected four (4) consecutive years in a row as a “Rising Star” in Georgia Super Lawyers Magazine (2018 – 2021) and is a frequent speaker at national conferences.
Mr. Goldberg has successfully represented a wide range of clients including publicly traded companies, national banks, mortgage servicers, property management companies, small businesses, investors, and individuals in state and federal court in civil litigation. Mr. Goldberg assists many of his creditor and/or landlord clients with defaulted loans and leases that may lead to residential and commercial property foreclosures and evictions. He serves many of his clients in real estate litigation including quiet title actions, boundary disputes, partition lawsuits, and complex title issues.
Prior to joining Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP, Mr. Goldberg sharpened his litigations skills handling hundreds of litigated matters at a mid-sized Atlanta law firm for about seven (7) years where he served as lead/senior counsel supervising a team of attorneys and paralegals. Prior to law school he served in a supervisory role for five (5) years in a large Atlanta law firm’s bankruptcy department where he helped coordinate and manage contested matters in a national default litigation practice.
In law school Mr. Goldberg completed a summer clerkship with the Honorable Judge James R. Sacca of the Northern District of Georgia, United States Bankruptcy Court. He won Best Petitioner’s Brief award and Oral Argument Finalist in The Charleston School of Law National Moot Court Competition. Mr. Goldberg was also a member of the Mercer Law School Advocacy Council, and a Student Member of the William A. Bootle Inn of Court.
Mr. Goldberg is from Marietta, Georgia, and now lives in Johns Creek, Georgia with his wife Katie and two daughters. In his spare time, Mr. Goldberg enjoys playing guitar, building computers, and attempting to train his German Shepherd.
