Chayla “Chay” Witherspoon is an Associate in Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Denver office and a member of the firm’s Professional Liability and Tort & Catastrophic Loss practice sections. Her practice focuses on defense of general liability claims for businesses and common carriers, as well as professional liability.

Previously Chay served as an extern with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, assisting with agency and tribal matters. Chay also served as an extern to several energy companies involving oil exploration and extraction operations, regulatory compliance, OSHA matters, and EPA rulemaking advocacy.

Chay earned her bachelor’s degree in science from Oklahoma State University. She then earned her law degree at the University of Tulsa College of Law.

Chay is licensed in the state and federal district courts for Colorado.
