Christopher J. Weber is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Freeman Mathis & Gary and practices in the firm’s Data Security, Privacy & Technology practice group and in its Professional Liability and Tort and Catastrophic Loss groups.
Mr. Weber provides experienced counsel defending businesses and government entities in complex data security and privacy litigation. His expertise includes defense of data breach class action lawsuits, as well as privacy claims under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other state privacy laws. With a focus on the evolving legal landscape and a commitment to protecting his clients' interests, Mr. Weber provides strategic and effective legal counsel in the face of today’s most challenging data security and privacy issues.
In his professional liability and tort practice, Mr. Weber defends product liability actions on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, including claims involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and class action. He also represents clients in matters involving defense of commercial and contractual disputes, including consumer protection actions. His work has also included the defense professional liability and insurance bad faith matters.
Mr. Weber’s commercial practice also includes representing homeowners’ associations and community associations and their Boards of Directors in a variety of legal issues including governance disputes, payment claims, construction cases, Davis-Stirling Act matters and compliance with the California Corporations Code. In that capacity, Mr. Weber serves as Vice-Chair of the firm's Homeowners Associations (HOA) national practice team.
