Overview

Cory Chipman is an Associate in the Atlanta office of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP. Cory serves clients in FMG’s Commercial Litigation, Data Security, Privacy & Technology and Insurance Coverage Practice Sections. Cory developed his trial experience as an Army JAG officer and uses this experience to help clients navigate complex issues in business disputes, data security, privacy and class actions. Cory anticipates risks, manages crises, crafts forward-thinking legal solutions and resolves disputes efficiently while aligning legal strategies with his clients’ business goals. 

Whether representing national corporations in high-stakes business litigation or advising small businesses facing a data breach, Cory brings a deep and thoughtful understanding of the legal and technical challenges that businesses face in today’s data-driven economy. From complex anti-trust litigation, contract disputes and shareholder derivative actions to data breach response and privacy class actions, Cory delivers strategic counsel and effective advocacy that protects clients’ interests and reputations.



Cory received his undergraduate degree in European Studies from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with minors in Global Business and Literacy and Scandinavian Studies. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., where he was a member of the mock trial team, an articles editor for the Federal Circuit Bar Journal and completed courses in the Government Procurement L.L.M program.
