Overview

Danica Chang is Senior Counsel in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's Los Angeles–Orange County Office and a member of firm’s Tort & Catastrophic Loss and Construction & Design Law practice sections. Mrs. Chang's practice focuses on general and complex civil litigation cases, including bodily and property injury defense, habitability, and premises liability.  

Mrs. Chang represents insurance carriers, property owners, and businesses in high-stakes litigation matters throughout California. She started her career advocating for underrepresented members of the community in landlord-tenant disputes, construction contracts, and other contractual matters, bringing a unique perspective and balanced approach to her current defense practice. 

During law school, Mrs. Chang served as Managing Editor of the Los Angeles Public Interest Law Journal—Southwestern Law School Chapter. She earned valuable experience clerking with the Office of the District Attorney, the Department of Justice—Office of the Attorney General, and the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney—Department of Water and Power. She also interned at the prestigious Taiwanese law firm Lee and Li, Attorneys-At-Law. Mrs. Chang holds a Master of Business Administration degree and has extensive non-legal experience in real estate and health care. She is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
