Overview

David Boresi is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP's St. Louis office. He is a member of the Healthcare practice area and Products Liability interdisciplinary team. He has tried more than 25 cases to verdict in both state and federal courts throughout Missouri, Illinois, Texas and Minnesota. He has also handled high-stakes commercial commodities mediations involving damages exceeding $100M. Additionally, he has acted as national trial counsel for clients in the firearms/ammunition and chemical industries.

Missouri Lawyers Media awarded Mr. Boresi the Missouri Lawyers ICON Award in 2025 based on more than 25 years as a practicing Missouri trial attorney. During that time, he represented numerous Fortune 100 clients, including manufacturers of medical devices from anesthesia equipment and imaging devices to phlebotomy equipment. He has also represented pharma companies and has developed special expertise in defending obstetric negligence cases involving profound brain injuries to newborns.

Mr. Boresi is a lifelong resident of St. Louis and a well-known member of the defense bar. His peers have recognized his ethical and practice standards by awarding him the highest Martindale Hubbell rating of "AV." In addition to his litigation practice, he has also served as Chief Legal Officer for a healthcare informatics company, adding transactional work to resume and overseeing all compliance activities, investigations, employment and intellectual property matters as well as governmental and investor relations.

Representative Cases & Clients
  • Korea Zinc v. Doe Run Company, AAA#50-154T-00398-06, obtained arbitration award exonerating client from claim of over $100M in connection with the performance of a zinc concentrates output contract with a Korean national company. David also recovered more than $1.5M in fees for his client in the absence of a “prevailing party” contract provision.
  • Schulte v. Brightstar, St. Louis County jury trial in wrongful death case involving at-home health care agency, its officers and a licensed practical nurse.
  • Abdiannia v. John Beal, Inc., jury trial in the City of St. Louis brought by a plaintiff alleging life-altering injuries due to a collision with a dumpster placed in the road by the defendant.
  • Stephens v. Sodexo Management, inadequate security case in St. Louis County involving psychic injuries to a housekeeper suffering sexual assault while performing duties in a psychiatric hospital unit.
  • O’Connor v. Landvatter Ready Mix, St. Louis County jury trial for defendant for auto accident case involving career-ending injuries to a electrical lineman working for local utility.
  • White v. Olin Corporation, Orange County, California case involving brain injury resulting from motorcycle vs. chain “clothesline” accident.
  • Siade v. Group Health Plan, federal case in Eastern District of Missouri defending health care insurer in claim for allegedly improper withholding of investigational treatment for cancer patient.
  • Handy v. GE Healthcare, St. Louis County, Missouri defense of manufacturer of anesthesia machine where the machine caught on fire while patient was intubated and undergoing surgery.
  • Brooks v. Siemens AG, defense of federal case against German manufacturer of lithotripsy equipment that caused injury to patient.
  • Concerned Citizens for Crystal City v. Alberici Construction, defense of municipality in environmental claims to block construction of an iron smelter in Crystal City, Missouri.
  • Miller/Newgard v. Archer Daniels Midland, state court case in Decatur, Illinois resulting from carbon monoxide deaths of 2 food plant workers due to fire in alleged defective air handling equipment.
