Hayward Gordon Jr. is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Downtown Los Angeles office. He is a member of the Firm’s Tort & Catastrophic Loss and Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions practice sections. Prior to joining FMG, Mr. Gordon gained legal experience as a student attorney with the MacArthur Justice Clinic, where he worked on civil rights litigation and policy reform, and as a legal intern with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Memphis District, assisting with regulatory and environmental compliance matters. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran and previously served as a Safety Compliance Officer at Howard University Hospital, where he focused on risk management and regulatory enforcement in the healthcare setting.
Mr. Gordon is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the John M. Langston Bar Association of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He earned his J.D. from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where his student comment was published in Volume 94 of the Mississippi Law Journal. While in law school, he contributed to multiple journals, held leadership roles and participated in clinics focused on justice reform and public service. He also holds a B.A. in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, with a minor in Naval Science, from Savannah State University. Mr. Gordon is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
