Joy L. Mahlstedt is a Partner at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Los Angeles office. She practices in the firm’s catastrophic tort division. Prior to joining FMG, Mahlstedt was a trial attorney for two major insurance carriers, where she defended insureds from inception of a third- or first-party case through settlement, trial or arbitration. She has more than 15 years of experience in insurance defense litigation handling complex and high-exposure claims involving automobile negligence, premises liability and dog bites. She is recognized for her ability to navigate complex cases and consistently deliver results. Whether trying cases in court or negotiating difficult settlements, she has built a strong track record of success that clients rely on.
