Julie Rubin is a Partner in the Chicago office if Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP. She is a member of the Insurance Coverage & Extra-Contractual Liability practice section. For over thirty years, she has advised clients and advocated on their behalf in connection with insurance coverage and claims handling matters at both the claim stage and in litigation. She provides coverage opinions and aggressively litigates coverage disputes involving bodily injury, property damage, personal and advertising injury, pollution, professional liability, and employer’s liability in, among other things, the environmental, mass tort, construction, products, health care, employment, energy, and transportation contexts. Additionally, she has counseled professional liability providers and self-insureds in connection with a variety of errors and omissions claims. Her extensive coverage experience allows her to thoroughly evaluate claims and lawsuits and provide recommendations that reflect an understanding of the client’s long term best interests.
Immediately prior to joining FMG, Ms. Rubin was an in-house coverage attorney for two insurers, focusing on general liability and construction defect claims, which provided her with insight into insurance operations. Prior to that time, she was a long standing equity member of a Chicago law firm and headed its Insurance Services Practice Group.
