Overview

Keegan Shelby is an Associate at Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and is located in the Orlando office. He is a member of the Firm’s Healthcare practice section. Keegan brings more than a decade of litigation experience to his practice, with a focus on representing medical enterprises, facility groups, and individual providers in matters involving statutory pre-suit investigations, medical professional negligence, on-call risk management, and general and premises liability.

Keegan’s background includes serving as defense trial counsel in both retained and in-house roles for two of the largest automobile insurance carriers and the largest retailer in the country. His litigation experience spans pre-suit time limit demand responses through trial and appellate advocacy, covering general liability, trucking and automobile negligence, premises liability, negligent security, construction defects, insurance coverage, and bad faith litigation. He has served as trial and appellate counsel in multiple published decisions, including Irwin v. Hawkins, Williams v. Malek I Salameh Al Nono, and Walker v. Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc.

He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association. Keegan earned his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law, where he was recognized as the Top Advocate in the 2013 Trial Practice and Procedure Mock Trial Competition by U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan.
