Lisa M. Lampkin is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary LLP’s Phoenix and Los Angeles offices, where she serves as Co-Chair of the Phoenix office and Chair of the firm’s National Insurance Coverage & Extra-Contractual Liability practice section. She is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Ms. Lampkin is recognized by Chambers and Partners USA Guide in California Insurance: Insurer (2024–2025) and is listed in the 2025–2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®. She has been selected to Southern California Super Lawyers annually from 2014–2025, previously appeared on the Top 50 Women Southern California Super Lawyers list (2017–2018), and was named to Southern California Rising Stars from 2009–2013.

Ms. Lampkin’s practice includes advising insurers on coverage issues arising under commercial general liability, professional liability, employers liability, aviation, excess, and umbrella policies. She has completed rigorous secondments in both the U.S. and London insurance markets, working directly with in‑house teams on complex claims, underwriting considerations, and specialty risks across the global insurance sector.

Ms. Lampkin is known for her ability to assess high‑exposure claims and guide clients through strategic, practical, and cost‑effective solutions. Her representative experience includes advising insurers in matters involving catastrophic fires, nationwide concussion class actions, multi‑claimant injury and wrongful death claims, copyright infringement allegations, opioid-related class actions, sex trafficking lawsuits filed in multiple jurisdictions, elder abuse claims, abuse and molestation matters, international aviation incidents, and product recall investigations.

With extensive experience managing significant monetary and reputational exposure, Ms. Lampkin represents insurers nationwide in complex, multi‑party coverage litigation and has appeared in numerous state and federal courts across the United States.

Representative Cases & Clients

  • Represents national insurer regarding its insurance coverage obligations with respect to multiple claims arising from the Palisades Fire that took place in California on January 7, 2025.
  • Represented insurer regarding its obligations to the Angels baseball team in connection with the wrongful death litigation arising from the death of MLB pitcher Tyler Skaggs.
  • Represents national insurer regarding its insurance coverage obligations under multiple primary and excess policies with respect to state and federal class-action lawsuits involving sports-related concussions allegedly sustained by players involved in youth, college, and professional sports.
  • Coverage counsel for national surplus lines insurer regarding its duties to multiple professional sports teams, clubs, and leagues arising from copyright infringement claims asserted by different music publishing companies for the alleged use of songs without a license across different social media platforms.
  • Serves as coverage counsel for several insurers on primary and excess policies issued to pharmacies and wholesale distributors involved in class-action opioid lawsuits.
  • Represents insurers regarding their coverage rights and duties under liability policies with respect to sex trafficking cases filed in multiple jurisdictions against business entities involved in the ownership, operation, management, and control of hotels where these activities have allegedly taken place.
  • Handled coverage issues for a national insurer regarding its duties to a domestic insured facing a governmental request for the voluntary recall of its product from the Canadian marketplace.
  • Represented insurer regarding its coverage obligations under an aviation policy issued to a domestic insured with respect to a plane crash that occurred outside the U.S. which resulted in multiple lawsuits in U.S. and foreign courts.
