Lisa R. House is a Senior Counsel in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Columbus office. Ms. House has 19 years-experience (private practice and public service) in tort litigation including jury trials. In private practice, Ms. House represented medical professionals and practices. She also presented risk management seminars to various hospitals in the central Ohio area. As Senior Counsel for the City of New York, Ms. House represented The City of New York and City agencies in the area of toxic and mass tort litigation. Ms. House’s practice included toxic tort cases involving Covid-19, Legionnaires’ Disease, Lead, and Tuberculosis. She also handled mass tort cases involving water main breaks and gas explosions. Additionally, Ms. House has experience with serious injuries including traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injuries. Ms. House also served as the Chief Coach for the New York City Tort Division where she coached attorneys, managers, and support professionals on issues such as workplace and interpersonal conflict, professional development, and employee management.
Prior to law school, Ms. House was a registered nurse. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University (B.S.N, M.S.N.). Ms. House obtained her law degree from Capital University Law School (J.D.) where she graduated summa cum laude, Order of the Curia. She was also a staff and associate editor of CULS Law Review.
In her free time, Ms. House enjoys competitive sports. She is a nationally qualified NPC bodybuilder. She also enjoys coaching others on health and fitness.
