Makayla C. Erazo is an Associate in the Freeman Mathis & Gary’s Hartford office. She grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut and graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Services and Legal Studies. During law school Makayla interned in the Civil Justice Clinic, the Office of the Public Defender, the Ned for CT campaign, the New Haven Superior Court, and Connecticut Legal Services. Additionally, she was involved in the Moot Court Honor Society, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and Latin Law School Association.
Before joining Freeman Mathis & Gary, Makayla worked at a criminal defense firm where she handled primarily post-conviction cases. During that time, she was able to reduce a sentence for Manslaughter in the First-Degree conviction. Makayla has handled many administrative hearings with the Department of Motor Vehicles where she restored driver’s licenses previously suspended or revoked. In her free time Makayla volunteers with Operation Hope, spends time with her family, and finds any excuse to be at a beach.
